Dog Training Blogs Adam and I spent Sunday morning at Dillon's Beach with the dogs. We were wowed by the casual cool of a surfer and his dog. Upon paddling in from the surf, he un-tethered his Border Collie and strolled back to his car - his surfboard in one hand, leash in the other, and his dog sitting a distance behind him. He played a game of long-distance recalls with his dog. It was precise, effortless, and done with no fanfare. Just a guy and his well trained dog. This inspired me to share my favorite dog training blogs. Here's the top of my list.

SpoiledBitch's Top 4 Favorite Dog Training Blogs (in no particular order)
Denise Fenzi
Denise Fenzi is an accomplished professional dog trainer who specializes in building relationships with dog handler teams who compete in sports. She was my coach too and I admire her teaching style. If I ever decide to train competitively again or wish to explore motivational methods to problem solving, she'll be my go-to person.
Denise launched her long-awaited blog in late 2011 and I'm always eager to read each new post. Her blog is a diary about raising, training, and living with her newest competition prospect, a Belgian Tervuren puppy named Lyra, and all the musings and experience that go along with it. It's educational, amusing, honest - and has plenty of videos to demonstrate why she chooses to teach Lyra the way she does and it's lasting benefits. You might just be inspired to schedule a lesson with Denise too.
The Other End of the Leash
Certified applied animal behaviorist and distinguished author, Patricia McConnell creates a forum for intelligent and thoughtful discussions on the two creatures that tirelessly intrigue her: dogs and humans. She combines life experiences, relevant information from science, and progressive dog training to inform, educate, and enrich our relationships with dogs. You can join the discussion or simply enjoy the read.
Notes from a Dog Walker
For ten years, Jessica Dolce has been professionally walking dogs along the sidewalks of Maine and beyond. Her blog is the result of a public service announcement gone viral sensation that raises awareness to a common and incorrect assumption in our society: that all dogs can and should be approached, touched, and handled without consent from the dog's owner. She coined the phrase D.I.N.O.S. - Dogs In Need of Space. You'll find thought provoking stories, musings, and ideas that challenge all of us to live more responsibly with our dogs.
Suzanne Clothier
I like Suzanne's common sense and humor - and her willingness to openly write about topics that others may only speak of in private. It makes for an engaging, thought provoking read. Her professional background dates back to 1977 and spans a variety of dog-related venues from sports to kennel management and everything in between. Her holistic, relationship-based approach to dogs and their people have earned her respect among companion dog owners and experienced trainers alike.
